High Street yoga is my sanctuary. It is the space and place where I feel comfortable, accepted, and encouraged to practice.
I want to take a moment to thank Tamsy and her staff for High Street Yoga. Being at High Street Yoga is much more that just " a
yoga class ". Yes, it is great yoga, yes it is great exercise , but, more than that it is a place of of peace, calm and friendship that
most of us get much too little of. My husband and I go to yoga together,(we really do, and he even tells his friends!) and it has
been wonderful...it makes me smile as I am writing this. Keep up the great work Tamsy!!
Need to share my experience this evening. My yoga practice at HSY with none other than the amazing Tamsy Markham was
exactly what I needed. I opened myself to the practice, trusted the process, and my life shifted. When I surrendered control I
accepted the unknown, and possibilities clear. Enough with the fluffy words.
It F--K'N ROCKED!
...Class tonight was so awesome! I was always nervous to go, but my friend got me in to it and I love it and how it makes me feel! Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your teaching and guidance tonight! Im sure Ill be seeing you again.
I came to HSY a year ago, hoping to bring balance and flexibility into my body (and golf game). The place is welcoming, the
practice is challenging, but the teachers and fellow yogis will inspire you to reach physical and spiritual heights you never thought
possible. I've never felt better, and yes, even my golf game has improved!
Let me start by saying that for years, I thought yoga was for “other” people -- people who were not fit enough to go to the gym;
people who were introspective and spiritual; people who ate only seafood and kale. I was definitely not a “yoga person.” I ate
meat. I went to the gym and I’m not the most spiritually enlightened person on the planet. On a whim, I took Tamsy’s class at
High Street Yoga. I know it sounds so cliché, BUT, she and the practice have changed my body, my life and a little bit of my soul.
Even when I didn’t know a down dog from a hot dog, I felt welcome and not at all self-conscious. Both the staff and the studio are
open and warm – and they are clearly tolerant of novices like me. After nearly a year of practicing at High Street Yoga, I’m leaner
and fitter than I’ve been in my life. And both my body and my mind are more flexible. Although I’m still an unapologetic meat
eater, I am now a “yoga person.” Thanks, Tamsy!
...I love yoga &. i'm so so excited I get to continue learning at High Street with everyone!
I just want to thank you for the great yoga I’ve experienced so far at High Street. I think I’ve done 5 classes so far and I can’t get enough. I want to do yoga everyday!!!!! It’s SO great!!!!!! Thanks for helping me rediscover yoga again!!!
I’m forever grateful to Tamsy and High Street Yoga for introduce me to yoga. In 2009, I walked into Tamsy’s class, my first ever, 50 lbs overweight, uncomfortable in my body and walked out with a renewed excitement for physical fitness, and with a deeper sense of my spiritual self, inspired by the joy that I felt at the completion of that class.
I continued building my yoga practice which since that time has helped me to lose 47 lbs, to get through breast cancer treatment and to lead me through a miraculous recovery.
Baptiste yoga has made me stronger in mind and body than I could have ever imagined. I am in better shape than I have ever been. I like to think yoga saved my life. Tamsy and her amazing staff of teachers are welcoming to all levels; classes are challenging but you are invited to meet yourself where you are. The sense of community is stronger here than anywhere I have ever practiced, and I am a bit of a studio gypsy, so I have practiced all over New England. The space is beautiful……and there are showers!!! I can’t recommend High Street Yoga, and particularly Tamsy Markham high enough. Thank you Tamsy for the incredible gift of yoga in my life…..
I can truly say I would not be where I am without you.
